Mangosuthu University of Technology Bridging Courses is a short course with a duration of six months. The faculty of Engineering also offers access (bridging programmes) designed to prepare students who could not fulfil all the diploma entrance requirements. MUT offer National Diplomas in Chemical, Civil, Surveying, Electrical, Building (Construction Management & Quantity Surveying), and Mechanical Engineering. We also offer a Bachelor of Technology in Chemical Engineering. - National Diploma: Chemical Engineering
This course prepares students to become qualified technicians who assist chemical engineers or plant operators in the control, maintenance, and operation of processes associated with the manufacture of chemical products. Technician duties include research, economic evaluation, and unit operations.
- National Diploma: Civil Engineering
This course qualifies engineers for employment in construction companies, consultants, government agencies, or local governments. There, technicians are usually part of a team led by a professional engineer or technician. Engineers can be involved in the design and construction of engineering structures such as roads, bridges, dams, railways, ports, buildings and airports.
- National Diploma: Surveying
This course qualifies students to become a surveyor capable of producing required building, traffic, industrial and residential maps at various scales.
- National Diploma: Construction Management & Quantity Surveying (Building)
With this course, students specialize in either construction management or surveying. This course will provide you with the basic skills and knowledge needed to build homes, schools, public buildings and other construction projects.
- National Diploma: Electrical Engineering
The course prepares the students with the knowledge and skills needed for working in electrical power generation and distribution environments, process control environments and electronic communication environments. The course may include design, development and work on computer-based systems.
- National Diploma: Mechanical Engineering
The diploma qualifies students for a wide range of occupations. There are employment opportunities in the manufacturing industry, motor industry, shipbuilding industry, aircraft industry, at power stations and in the mines.
