The lack of engineers in South Africa has been greatly reduced because of the Faculty of Engineering’s rapid growth over the past few years. High-quality teaching is a defining feature of the Engineering Faculty. To improve the prospects for efficient learning and studying, teaching and learning programs are continuously updated. Additionally, engineering degrees from Stellenbosch University typically offer direct admission to the following level of postgraduate study programs in engineering at foreign universities. Admission requirements for the extended degree programs

A National Senior Certificate (NSC) certified for admission to bachelor’s studies, or an exemption certificate from the Matriculation Board
An average of at least 60% in the NSC
Mathematics 60%
Physical Sciences 50%

SU Engineering Requirements are as follows;

English Home Language 50%, with no Afrikaans requirement OR
English First Additional Language 60%, with no Afrikaans requirement OR
English First Additional Language 50% AND Afrikaans Home Language 50% OR
English as the First Additional Language 50% AND Afrikaans as the Second Additional Language 60%
Over and above the aforementioned requirements, candidates are subject to selection according to selection criteria, similar to the four-year BEng programs.
