To study at Stellenbosch University you are required to:
- Obtained a National Senior Certificate (NSC) to acquire admission to undergraduates programs,
- Applicants have to write the National Benchmark Tests (NBTs).
- English Home Language 50%, with no Afrikaans requirement OR
- English First Additional Language 60%, with no Afrikaans requirement OR
- English First Additional Language 50% AND Afrikaans Home Language 50% OR
- English First Additional Language 50% AND Afrikaans as the Second Additional Language 60%
- Over and above the aforementioned requirements, candidates are subject to selection according to selection criteria, similar to the four-year BEng programs.

| 1 March: | Applications are open for all programs and residences. |
| 1 April: | Applications are open for financial assistance at Stellenbosch University. |
| 30 June: | Applications close for all undergraduate programs as well as for residences. |
| 31 August: | Applications close for Stellenbosch University financial assistance. |
| 1 September: | Applications open for NSFAS bursaries at http://www.nsfas.org.za/content/. |
| 30 November: | Applications close for NSFAS bursaries. |
| 20 February 2023: | Applications close for Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Public Accountability (Telematic Education). |
