This article is to inform all the prospective candidates offered provisional admission or probably seeking admission into the Rhodes University, RU for the 2025-2026 academic session that the management of the institution has released the amount they are required to pay as an acceptance fee. We specifically publish this information for all people who need to know the current school fees of Rhodes University, RU.

Please note that if you have applied for admission to Rhodes University, RU or if you are already a student, it is advised that you know the current tuition fees for all students, and this knowledge will help you, avoid making mistakes that will cost you your admission.

Rhodes University Fees 2025

There are two basic fees (tuition and residence) and some additional lesser fees (e.g. for handouts or special examination costs). Returning students must make an initial payment of 10% of the annual tuition fee and, if applicable, 25% of the annual residence fees by January 19 while new students must do so by January 26.

The initial payment amounts are R6,500 for tuition only, or R28,022 for tuition and residence (R6,500 + R21,522). Subsequent payments are due as follows: an additional 25% by March 31, (35% of total fees), another 25% by May 31, (60% of total fees), a further 25% by September 30,(85% of total fees), with any remaining balance due by November 30, (100% of total fees).

Rhodes University International Students Fees

Returning and new international students must pay 50% of their tuition and residence fees by January 19, for returning students, and by January 26, for new students. The remaining balance is due by May 31.

The initial fee payment amounts are R31,400 for tuition only or R76,577 for tuition and residence.

Additionally, international students must pay an annual levy: undergraduates and postgraduates from SADC countries R12,630 and R8,567 respectively, from Africa (excluding SADC) R16,131 and R10,673, and from elsewhere R17,937 and R12,630.
