University Of North West
University Of North West: North-West University (NWU) is a public research university with campuses located in Potchefstroom, Mahikeng, and Vanderbijlpark, South Africa. It was formed in 2004 as a result of a merger between two universities, the Potchefstroom University for Christian Higher Education and the University of the North-West.
The university offers a broad range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in diverse fields such as agriculture, engineering, business, law, education, health sciences, humanities, natural sciences, and theology.
The NWU is committed to functioning as a unitary, integrated, multi-campus university that enables equity, redress and globally competitive teaching and research across all three of our campuses. Our core activities, teaching-learning and research, are intertwined with community engagement and innovation in our eight faculties, most of which serve both distance and contact students.
NWU is one of the largest universities in South Africa, with a student population of around 73,000 and over 6,500 staff members. The university is known for its commitment to research and innovation, and its graduates are well-regarded in many fields.
