NWU Online Application (NWU) 2024/2025
Before you begin your application, think about the following options: Start a “New Application” with a new student number or “Change the Language” of the application. If you “Already have a University Number,” you can complete the application or check the status of your application.
“Current and previously enrolled students” will use this option to continue their studies the following year or apply for supplementary studies at the NWU. Choose “Forgotten Student Number” if you can’t remember your student number. Nwu application fee

NWU Application Procedure
The application process for North-West University (NWU) varies depending on whether you are a South African citizen or an international applicant.
For South African citizens:
- Go to the NWU website: https://www.nwu.ac.za/
- Click on the “Study@NWU” button on the homepage.
- Select the appropriate level of study, such as undergraduate or postgraduate.
- Click on the “Applications” button.
- Click on the “Apply” button.
- Create an account or log in if you already have one.
- Fill in the online application form.
- Upload the required supporting documents, such as your ID document or passport, academic transcripts, and proof of payment of the application fee.
- Submit your application.

For international applicants:
- Go to the NWU website: https://www.nwu.ac.za/
- Click on the “Study@NWU” button on the homepage.
- Select the appropriate level of study, such as undergraduate or postgraduate.
- Click on the “Applications” button.
- Click on the “International students” button.
- Create an account or log in if you already have one.
- Fill in the online application form.
- Upload the required supporting documents, such as your passport, academic transcripts, English proficiency test results, and proof of payment of the application fee.
- Submit your application.
All students must be registered annually as provided in the General Academic Rules, the Statute of the North-West University, and the relevant provisions of the Higher Education Act. Annually, more or less at the beginning of February, it is Registration time for students.
Ease your registration next year by paying your minimum payable fees early (December or January) into the University’s bank account. Also, make sure your outstanding University account is fully settled because you will not be permitted to register for next year if any fees for the year are still outstanding. Also, take note that no respite will be granted for payment of the minimum fees payable.
International students must pay the full amount for their proposed study and relevant costs in advance before registration can be finalized.
