CUT Online Application
The application portal is open for the engagement of all students of South Africa ns other countries who desire to study at CUT to submit their applications. CUT no longer accept walk-in applications. The online application process is very simple and easy to do, just log onto the official website of CUT, download the available application form, fill it out and submit it along with your uploaded certified copy of your supportive documents. The online application form is available on the official website of CUT for easy access. Allow for a 4 to the 6-week period for feedback from the date of application, then check the application status.
Required Documents
- Current Matriculants: upload Final Grade 11 results or Grade 12 June results.
- Already Matriculated applicants: you will have to upload your certified ID and Senior Certificate.
- Higher Qualifications than matric: you will have to upload your certified ID, Senior Certificate, your qualification(s) and study record.
- Postgraduate Applicants: Visit the Head of the Department / Assistant Deans, Research Innovation and Engagement to discuss research projects for Master or Doctorate study before applying online. For more information, Postgraduate Studies
CUT NSFAS
The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) is a public entity reporting to the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET). It provides financial assistance in the form of study bursaries to qualifying students who plan to study at Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) colleges and public universities. NSFAS seeks to Support access to, and success in, higher education and training for students from poor and working-class families who would otherwise not be able to afford the cost of studying at a TVET college or university and also Provides bursaries to qualifying students at TVET colleges and public universities. NSFAS covers
- Registration fees
- Tuition fees
- Learning Materials
- Living (covers food and incidental expenses)
- Personal care
- Accommodation or transport
- Medical assessments: The assessment is limited to one assessment for the duration of the qualification and on request by the Disability Unit/Student Support.
- Assistive devices: Limited to one assistive device for the duration of the qualification.
- Human support: To cover the cost of human support such as a caregiver, guide-dog, scribe, tutor, or sign language interpreter.
Who Qualifies for NSFAS
- All SASSA grant recipients.
- Applicants whose combined household income is not more than R350 000 per year.
- Persons with disabilities’ combined household income must not be more than R600 000 per year.
