Please be aware that the Registrar’s Division at Rhodes University responds to all inquiries from international students seeking degrees, with the exception of those regarding visa requirements and medical insurance requirements.
With a number of colleges and universities throughout the world, Rhodes University has an exchange and study abroad partnerships.

If your institution and Rhodes do not have an agreement,

Students from universities and colleges with which Rhodes University has agreements are given preference.
Even while it is possible to enroll at Rhodes University as a study abroad student without such a contract, they cannot ensure that an independent student’s application will be taken into consideration until all of their partner universities have submitted theirs.

How to apply:

  • Talk to your native institution’s foreign office.
  • You will be nominated to the Rhodes International Office if your home institution has decided that Rhodes is a good receiving institution for you.
  • The Rhodes International Office will send you the application documents following a successful nomination
  • Research courses at Rhodes
  • Send an electronic copy of your completed application to the Rhodes International Office by 15 March for the February-June semester and by 15 October for the July-November semester, along with a paper copy.
  • The Rhodes International Office will send you an acceptance letter if your application is accepted. By the deadline, complete and submit the Transport Request Form and the Acceptance of Offer.
  • Obtain a medical insurance plan and a study visa for South Africa, then arrange flights to Chief Dawid Stuurman International Airport.

  • Study the programs: Do some research on the programs you’re interested in applying to, and make sure you can meet the minimum requirements for admittance.
  • Apply online: Fill out the online application form after creating an account on the Rhodes University Online Application System. You must provide any necessary supporting documentation, such as your academic transcripts, identity documents, and, if necessary, confirmation of your English language ability.
  • Pay the application fee: Throughout the application process, you can pay a non-refundable application fee of R100 online.
  • Submit your application: Do this after finishing the online application and paying the application fee.
  • Check the status of your application: The Rhodes University Online Application System allows you to do so.
  • After your application has been examined, you will learn the university’s decision regarding your acceptance. You will receive an offer letter if you are selected, which you must accept in order to reserve your spot at the university.
  • If you want financial assistance, you may apply for loans, scholarships, and bursaries through the Rhodes University Financial Aid Office.
