Stellenbosch University confers an academic degree or diploma to successful candidates for the 2024-2025 academic year. The format of SU Graduation ceremonies complies with current rules and will not jeopardize the health and safety of graduands and their visitors. The physical graduation ceremonies will take place at the SU Conservatorium of Music (Konservatorium), as it is the most appropriate site for the limited number of people allowed and from a social distancing standpoint.
The academic year’s highlight is graduation. The University will once more award diplomas, degrees, honorary doctorates, the Chancellor’s Medal, and Chancellor’s Awards throughout this week.

December Graduation-Disclaimer:
Regardless of whether they will graduate at one of the December graduation ceremonies or not, all undergraduate final-year and postgraduate students receive the initial graduation notice. Since the letter is delivered and published for informational purposes before it is known which students will graduate at the respective ceremonies, receiving it cannot be taken as evidence of attaining a qualification.
Graduands who meet the requirements will get a graduation notification via email. On November 30, the name lists for the programs and graduates will be uploaded. To graduate, students must complete all criteria for their chosen certificate, diploma, or degree.
Errors do happen, therefore it’s up to you to make sure you meet all the graduation criteria. Please be aware that students who use and pass a module during the A3 assessment period, which runs from November 17 to December 3, will obtain their qualifications during the March 2024 graduation cycle, which runs from March 27 to March 31, 2024.

Ceremonies-Arrival time
Note: All graduates must arrive at the location immediately and with their hired academic attire and must be aware that you must be wearing the appropriate academic clothes. At this point, you will get your announcement card, Also, Graduands are cordially asked to take a seat one hour before the ceremony begins. One hour prior to the ceremony’s start, the venue’s doors will be opened.
