FIXED TERM CONTRACT-VIP Protection Officer
The University of Fort Hare is a vibrant, equitable and sustainable African University, committed to teaching and research excellence at the service of its students, scholars and the wider community. The University of Fort Hare seeks to appoint VIP Protection Officers on a 6 months fixed term contract. As a VIP Protection Officer specializing in executive protection within the university, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety, security, and privacy of university executives and high-profile individuals. This role demands a high level of professionalism, discretion, and physical fitness, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills. You will work closely with university administration, security personnel, and external law enforcement agencies to mitigate risks and provide a secure environment for the university’s leadership.
ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR: PRIVATE LAW
Minimum Requirements:
- A relevant Doctoral Degree
- At least 7 years experience in higher education
- Extensive undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research experience in Private Law or related discipline
- A track record of international and national accredited research publications commensurate with the academic rank of Associate Professor
- Postgraduate supervision experience including successful Master and/or Doctoral supervision commensurate with the academic rank of Associate Professor

FACULTY OF LAW – LECTURER: PRIVATE LAW
Minimum Requirements:
- A relevant Masters Degree and registered for a Doctoral Degree
- At least 1 year of experience in higher education or Qualification/courses in higher education teaching and learning
- Undergraduate teaching experience in Private Law or related area or discipline
- Research publications successful supervision or successful research grant funding.

Duties:
- Participate in research; curriculum design, development, and implementation
- Teach undergraduate (and postgraduate) modules
- Meet research publication requirements for academic rank of lecturer level
- Supervise students (Honours/Masters research)
- Secure research grants
- Participate in networking and collaborations in research and/or teaching
- Participate in mentorship programmes
- Participate in community engagement integrated with teaching or research
- Participate in administrative duties in the department
