Your Guide to DUT’s 2025-2026 Application Process:
Durban University of Technology (DUT), a member of the International Association of Universities, is a multi-campus institution at the forefront of higher education, technological training, research, and innovation. The university is currently accepting applications for admission for the 2025-2026 academic year. Prospective students are encouraged to visit the university’s online application portal to download the application forms and fill them out with the required information and supporting documents.
Applications must be submitted through the online form available on the university’s website, accompanied by a non-refundable application fee of $150. The early bird deadline is February 22, 2024, and the late application deadline is April 25, 2024. The application portal is open to all students who meet the specified entry requirements. DUT was established in 2002 through the merger of Technikon Natal and ML Sultan Technikon. The university is located in KwaZulu-Natal, with four campuses in Durban and two in Pietermaritzburg. Dut 2025-2026 Online Application Entry Requirements
For every course offered at DUT, there are entry requirements needed:
For Higher Certificate programs:
- a National Senior Certificate (NSC) as certified by the Council for General and Further Education and Training (Umalusi), with a minimum achievement rating of 3 for English.
For Diploma Programmes:
- a National Senior Certificate (NSC) as certified by the Council for General and Further Education and Training (Umalusi), with a minimum achievement rating of 3 for English and a minimum achievement rating of 3 in four recognised NSC 20-credit subjects.
For Bachelor’s Degree programmes:
- a National Senior Certificate (NSC) as certified by the Council for General and Further Education and Training (Umalusi), with a minimum achievement rating of 3 for English and a minimum achievement rating of 4 in four NSC 20-credit subjects chosen from the NSC designated subject list.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION FOR NCV LEVEL 4 APPLICANTS
For Higher Certificate:
- A National Certificate (Vocational) Level 4 with at least 50% in English.
For Diploma: Dut 2024-2025
A National Certificate (Vocational) Level 4 with the following minimum requirements:
- At least 50% in three fundamental subjects including, English; and
- At least 60% in three compulsory vocational
For Bachelor’s Degree:
A National Certificate (Vocational) Level 4 with the following minimum requirements:
- At least 60% in three fundamental subjects, including English; and
- At least 70% in four compulsory vocational subjects, chosen from the National Certificate (Vocational) Level 4
Each department sets specific entrance requirements over and above the minimum entrance requirements with which applicants need to comply.
- International applicants are required to check the International Brochure for detailed information on the admission process.
- Apply online at the Central Applications Office (CAO). (A prospective student who wishes to study at DUT must apply via the CAO by visiting their website at www.cao.ac.za)
Online Application Fee To Dut 2025/2026
- To secure a spot, a deposit of US $150 is required after admission, payable by February 22 for early applications or April 25 for late applications.
Details on the full cost of the program, along with important dates, can be found on the International School website at www.dut.ac.za. The fee includes accommodation, instruction, course materials, travel arrangements for tours, and a visit to a game park. The students must cover any other expenses.
Dut 2025-2026 Online Application
Follow the below process to apply for admission into DUT for 2025:
- Please complete the CAO application forms
- Attach certified copies of your identity document and Grade 12 certificate (June/ Trial report if you have not written your final examination).
- The application form must reach the CAO office before the closing date of 30 September 2024 for Diploma & Degree programmes and 30 November 2024 for Higher Certificate programmes.
- Please refer to specific programmes for relevant closing dates, as some programmes close earlier than 30 September 2024.
- When submitting your application form, include the appropriate application fee of R245 (SA Citizens) / R300 (International applicants).
- Make sure that your application AND fee reach the CAO before the closing date.
