NWU Online Registration

The NWU offers an online registration process for both new and returning students. New students will need to complete an online application form, which includes providing personal information, academic qualifications, and program of study and Register online after they have received their admission letter. During the registration process, students can select their courses, pay their fees, and upload any necessary documentation.

At the beginning of the academic year, you can only register once a year (January).
Please be aware that only the online Registration Portal will be used to process registrations.

NWU Online Registration Dates And Amendment Period For

• Commencement of online registration for first-year students: 22 January- 8 March.
• Commencement of online registration for senior students: 29 January- 8 March.

Module and qualification adjustments are permitted during the first semester amendment period, which runs from 13 February to 3 March. Module changes can be done via the Adds&Drops DIY app (module change forms only need to be completed and submitted where amendments can’t be requested via the app). Forms for qualification changes need to be completed and submitted to the faculties for consideration.

NWU Self-Registration

A new online self-registration process has been implemented. To successfully register, follow the steps. The Grade R, ACT (Foundation and Intermediate Phases), and ADE (Special Needs) programs do not apply to seniors or returning students.

• Document Preparation and Student Access: You are given the details regarding the paperwork and access you will need to self-register at this stage.
• Curriculum Control and Module Selection: At this stage, program-specific details will be given to you so that you can successfully choose your courses during self-registration.

How To Register Online At NWU

• Log into http://studies.nwu.ac.za/studies/registrations
• Select “Registration”
• Log in by entering your student number and PIN First years will receive an SMS regarding their PIN
• Complete the two fields and click on “Next” to proceed
• Login with your student number and PIN
• Select “Self-registration”
• Registration year must be the current year for registration
• Continue with the registration process
• Click “Next” to continue if indicated that you may register.
• Select all modules for the current curriculum.
• Continuing with the registration process may have financial applications.
• Read the Agreement and “Accept” to proceed with your registration
• Sign off Congratulations! You are now a registered student of the North West University. We wish you well with your studies.

NB Please take note that you will only receive your proof of registration if your finances are in order. If your minimum registration fees are not paid yet, your registration will only be conditional.
