Both men and women can find rewarding professions in engineering. Professional engineers are mostly interested in how innovation, creativity, and change are driving technology forward. Their work typically focuses on people and technology and involves innovative thought, restraint, and excellent judgment.

The four-year Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) programs give students a solid foundation in knowledge. All students study the same required courses their first year, following which they begin to specialize in the programs they are most interested in. Students who have completed all of the first-year courses in their first year of study may switch to any other BEng program at the beginning of their second year of study because the first year of study is substantially the same for all BEng programs.
Mathematical and natural and engineering scientific foundations are established in the first two years, and in the third and fourth years, students learn how to apply their knowledge to solve technological challenges and create economic opportunities.

BEng graduates can pursue a number of jobs both inside and outside the engineering business due to their comprehensive knowledge base. They frequently start and run their own businesses as entrepreneurs.
