UJ Short Courses

The University of Johannesburg offers a wide range of short courses in various faculties, including the Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment, the Faculty of Health Sciences, the Faculty of Law, and the Faculty of Humanities, among others.

The courses are designed to be flexible, with some offered on a part-time or full-time basis, and others offered online or face-to-face.

Short Learning Programmes (SLPs) are institutionally approved courses lasting less than a year, designed for various social, economic, and educational purposes in line with UJ’s PQM and strategic goals. To support vocational and career-focused education through continuous learning, the School of Management at UJ’s College of Business and Economics offers two SLPs. These are available to students who hold an NQF 6 Advanced Certificate in Business Management from the University of Johannesburg. Completing these SLPs enables students to qualify for higher-level qualifications: the Advanced Diploma in Business Management and the Advanced Diploma in Management (subject to specific admission requirements). These SLPs are not exit-level programmes; students enrol in them solely to qualify for further full-time studies.
