University of Witwatersrand (WITS) Online Application 2025/2026
The University of Witwatersrand (WITS) Online Application 2025/2026 will open on 1 March 2024 and close on 30 September 2024 for all interested students who want to study at the institution. Interested applicants are advised to submit their applications before the deadline to avoid incurring extra fees for late applications. To apply, visit www.wits.ac.za to apply download the online application form, upload all supporting documents and submit before the deadline. Applicants must meet the entry requirements of the institution before applying.
A Non-refundable application fee of R100 is required for South African citizens, and R700 for foreign citizens, Therefore, Payments are to be made before closing dates.

Required Supporting Documents
- Proof of payment receipt of your application fee (This is a non-refundable compulsory fee for every applicant)
- A Certified copy of your ID document(ID document is compulsory for South African citizens – your application cannot be processed without a certified copy of your ID and Passport Number for International Applicants)
- Exam Results: Final Grade 12 results (if available). Grade 11 results (if you currently doing grade 12) are very important for your application. Thus, have it on hand.
- A unique email address when applying either online or in a hard copy.

You may apply for a maximum of three programmes (the order of choice does not matter).
- Apply using your names as they appear on your ID book/card or passport (do not use initials or nicknames).

If you apply for two programmes within one Faculty, you are advised to apply for one programme in a less restricted faculty (e.g. Humanities, Commerce or Science).

Try to keep your study options open, especially when applying for programmes in faculties such as Health Sciences or Engineering.
- Do not enter the duration of the programme. You are applying to go into 1st year of study.
- Ensure that you submit the application and receive a letter acknowledging that your application has been submitted.
