UP Registration Dates 2025-2026
Registration for undergraduate and postgraduate study programmes for both South African and international citizens closes on specific dates in the year preceding the year of study. Check the list of closing dates supplied below to make sure that you submit your registration on time. To use the Online Application System you will need internet access, as well as an email address that you can access regularly because as soon as you submit your online application, a student number (EMPLID) will be sent to this email address as confirmation of receipt.
The registration process can be quite daunting at first, but don’t worry we’ve got you covered. For a to-do list of the January 2025 registration process check out the Online Registration Guidelines below.

UP Online Registration Date 2025-2026
The online registration portal opens on the following dates;
- UP online registration will be available on the UP Student Portal from 3 January 2025.
- The Registration Call Centre will be available from 4 January 2025 to 16 February 2025 from 08:00 to 16:00.
- In-person registration assistance will be available at Hillcrest Campus from 25 January 2025 to 16 February 2025.
- Masters, Doctorate and Phd Online registration open on 16 December 2024.
- Current and Hons students will be able to register online from 3 January 2025 to 1 March 2025.
- New first-year students will be able to register online from 25 January 2025 to 1 March 2025.

How To Apply Online At University of Pretoria 2025-2026
Follow the steps below to register online at UP for the 2025-2026 academic year;
- Log in to the UP Student Portal, click on the UP Student Centre link and check for holds in the right column of the student centre. If there are any holds, students will not be able to register.
- First-year students, who are not sure about their curriculum, need to register for core and fundamental modules. Elective modules can be added after attending the orientation programme and curriculum advice.
- First-years with fixed curricula can register their modules as they appear on the registration page.
Current students will be able to register online from 3 January 2025 to 1 March 2025. There is no fixed registration schedule for these students.
