Online Application to Dut 2024/2025
All applications must be submitted using the application online application form which is available on the website of the institution: (www.dut.ac.za), together with a non-refundable application fee. The early bird deadline is February 22; the late deadline is April 25, 2024. The application portal is open to all students if only they meet the entry requirements laid down. Interested applicants must ensure that they submit an early application to avoid all the late application fees and stress.
Durban University of Technology (DUT), was established in 2002 as a merger between Technikon Natal and ML Sultan Technikon. This Institution is located in Kwa-Zulu Natal. It has four campuses in Durban and two in Pietermaritzburg. All applications must be submitted via the application forms (available from the International School Office or downloaded from the website: www.dut.ac.za) and must include a non-refundable application fee. The early bird deadline is February 22nd, and the late deadline is April 25th.

DUT Online Admission Requirements
For Higher Certificate programmes:
- a National Senior Certificate (NSC) as certified by the Council for General and Further Education and Training (Umalusi), with a minimum achievement rating of 3 for English.
For Diploma programmes:
- a National Senior Certificate (NSC) as certified by the Council for General and Further Education and Training (Umalusi), with a minimum of achievement rating of 3 for English and a minimum achievement rating of 3 in four recognised NSC 20-credit subjects.
For Bachelor’s Degree programmes:
- a National Senior Certificate (NSC) as certified by the Council for General and Further Education and Training (Umalusi), with a minimum achievement rating of 3 for English and a minimum achievement rating of 4 in four NSC 20-credit subjects chosen from the NSC designated subject list.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION FOR NCV LEVEL 4 APPLICANTS
For Higher Certificate:
- A National Certificate (Vocational) Level 4 with at least 50% in English.
For Diploma:
A National Certificate (Vocational) Level 4 with the following minimum requirements:
- At least 50% in three fundamental subjects including, English; and
- At least 60% in three compulsory vocational
For Bachelor’s Degree:
A National Certificate (Vocational) Level 4 with the following minimum requirements:
- At least 60% in three fundamental subjects, including English; and
- At least 70% in four compulsory vocational subjects, chosen from the National Certificate (Vocational) Level 4

Before you apply to DUT you should have the following;

- Cеrtіfіеd сору оf уоur ID dосumеnt(ID dосumеnt соmрulѕоrу fоr SA сіtіzеnѕ – уоur аррlісаtіоn саnnоt be рrосеѕѕеd wіthоut a сеrtіfіеd сору of уоur ID аnd Pаѕѕроrt Numbеr for Intеrnаtіоnаl Aррlісаntѕ
- Exаm Rеѕultѕ:Fіnаl Grade 12 results (іf аvаіlаblе). Grаdе 11 rеѕultѕ (іf сurrеntlу dоіng grаdе 12) аrе vеrу іmроrtаnt fоr уоur аррlісаtіоn. Thuѕ, hаvе іt оn hаnd.
- Rеmеmbеr уоu wіll nееd a unique еmаіl аddrеѕѕ whеn аррlуіng еіthеr оnlіnе оr іn a hаrd сору. Nоtе thаt thе fоllоwіng ѕуѕtеmѕ dо not ассерt еmаіlѕ frоm some оf thе unіvеrѕіtіеѕ: Hоtmаіl, Wеbmаіl, Ymаіl, Outlооk аnd Lіvе. It іѕ advisable tо сrеаtе аnd uѕе a Gmаіl аddrеѕѕ fоr thе аррlісаtіоn.
Online Application Procedure to Dut 2024/2025
Applicants must complete the following steps to apply online for DUT in 2024:
- Visit the Central Applications Office (CAO) website: www.co.ac.za
- To apply for a CAO, go to the CAO’s website and fill out the application
- Upload certified copies of your identification documents as well as your final grade 11 and grade 12 certificates (June/Trial report if you have not yet completed your final examination).
- Before the deadline of September 30, 2024, the application form must reach the CAO office.
Please refer to specific programs for pertinent termination dates as some programs conclude earlier than September 30, 2024. - Before submitting your application, you must pay the R250 application cost for SA citizens and R300 for international applicants.
Online Application Fee to Dut 2024/2025
Information about the full cost of the program and the dates are available on the International School website at http://www.dut.ac.za. The fee covers accommodation, instruction, materials, and travel arrangements as part of individual courses, tours, and a visit to a game park. All other costs are to be met by the students. A US $150 deposit must be paid, after admission, to secure a place (by February 22 for early applications or April 25 for late applications).
