UKZN Online Application 2025-2026

All high school graduate who has an interest in studying at UKZN must begin to submit their application NOW, Therefore the application portal is open for all undergraduate and Postgraduate applications. The portal is open to all South African students and International students who desire to have their certification from UKZN.

Prospective students must ensure that they meet the entry requirement and own the required supportive documents before attempting to apply for admission.

Application Dates And Deadline at UKZN 2025-2026

The UKZN online application portal opens from April until 30 June for students pursuing Medicine and on 30 September 2024 for students pursuing other programs. The online applications must be submitted before the proposed closing date of the institution since late applications may not be considered for the 2025-2026 academic year.

Online Application Requirements at UKZN 2025-2026

Please remember to upload the following documents (where applicable):

1. Certified copy of your ID/passport.
2. Certified copy of your National Senior/Matric Certificate or O/A Levels or relevant school leaving qualification/certificate.
3. Proof from Universities South Africa (previously known as HESA), that you qualify for admission to degree studies at South African universities if you are an international applicant. For more information, refer to the undergraduate prospectus
4. Certified copies of your degree certificate(s), academic record, and certificate of conduct, if you attended other universities.
5. Proof of English proficiency for International applicants from non-English speaking countries.
6. South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) evaluations if the previous qualification(s) was/were obtained at foreign universities (outside South Africa).
7. A research proposal/proposed title of the dissertation/thesis if you are applying for a master’s Degree or Ph.D.
8. A valid study visa to study in SA if you are an International applicant.
9. Before applying online please make sure that you have read the guidelines above.
10. Please ensure that you have the HESA/SAQA documents to be uploaded to complete your application.
11. Please ensure to use the reference APPN (followed by your student number) when making the application fee payments.
12. Please allow the system 24 hrs to 48 hrs to clear your payment.
13. South African First-time Undergraduate applicants must apply via CAO at: www.cao.ac.za.
    

How To Apply Online At UKZN 2025-2026

Follow the steps below to apply online at the University of KwaZulu Natal for 2025-2026;

• Consult the CAO handbook that provides listings of qualifications available at the different institutions.
• Have a look through the various courses offered and choose a programme that interests you and for which you may qualify. Pay attention to closing dates for qualifications.
• Find the programme code that is linked to the qualification that you have chosen. This code needs to be entered on the application form.
• Use this programme code when completing the CAO form, which is available from the CAO, the CAO website, the University’s Application and Information Office at Howard College, or the Student Academic Administration Offices at Edgewood, Howard College,
  Pietermaritzburg and Westville campuses.
