Alumni UP Library Access Packages

The Learning centre access for alumni will now be included in the UP Alumni Benefits package, offering two options: Gold or Premium. The Gold package is priced at R750 per year. To enrol, a payment of R150 upfront is required, along with the first debit order instalment of R50. Alternatively, payment can be made annually for R750.

The Gold Benefits package includes:

• Online access to the Alumni Learning Center Guide
• Study space on various levels of the Merensky Learning Center (excluding postgraduate rooms, research commons, discussion rooms, and study centre)
• Access to all Learning center resources
• Access to all Learning centre events

For those opting for the Premium Benefits package, the cost is R850 per year. The initial payment consists of R250 upfront, along with the first debit order instalment of R50. An annual payment option of R850 is also available.

The Premium Benefits package provides:

• Online access to the Alumni Learning Center Guide
• Study space on various levels of the Merensky Learning Center (excluding postgraduate rooms, research commons, discussion rooms, and study centre)
• Access to all Learning center resources
• Access to all Learning centre events
• Borrowing privileges: two books for two weeks (excluding prescribed books, Study Collection books, and standard and inter-learning centre loan services)
• Five hour-long reference interviews annually, allowing the user to request 20 articles per year based on the discussion
• Access to Special Collections by appointment
• Gym membership at the HPC sports science gym with a 50% discount on membership fees for alumni and family members
• Special rates at the HPC Timeout Café with a 25% discount on all meals for alumni and family members
• Special rates at the HPC Hotel with a 30% discount off rack rates for bed and breakfast for alumni and family members

NB: Please note that the UP libraries have returned to regular operating hours from Monday, 13 February 2025 after the holiday period. The staff will be available to provide online support through Ask / Chat to a Librarian or @UP Virtual Library
