NMU Online Registration Requirements:
Nelson Mandela University registration period begins a few weeks after application. The selected applicants may receive a notification via SMS or email to proceed with registration after applications have been reviewed by the admission Board. Students are mandated to register after application to confirm their acceptance of admission and to be part of the student body.
The registration official instates selected applicants as students of the institution. Students register for their course for the semester, Course, and Offering Type either Full-time or Part-time and Campus, Subject Code and When the subject is offered either semester 1, 2, or year, Exam Year and Month etc.
NMU has made online registration so simple and easy for students to register from the comfort of their own homes, or wherever they have Internet access.
- NMU Online registration for the NMMU 2025 academic year will be open from 15th January to 29th February 2025.
Please note that late registration after 11th February is subject to payment of a late registration fee.
Online Late Registration Date For NMU 2025-2026
- Late registration closes on Thursday, 29 February 2025. Electronic transfers/direct bank deposits may take up to two business days to reflect in Nelson Mandela University’s bank account. Registration will not be active until the payment is reflected on the student account.

Online Registration Fee At NMU For 2025-2026
Down payment amounts before registration can commence. This amount will be credited towards your student fees account:
Degree Programmes, Postgraduate Diplomas and Occasional Studies:
- Full-time students – R 9300
- Part-time students – R 5400
Medical degree (inclusive of device and non-tuition fee levies:
- First-year – R24300
Diploma/Certificate Programmes:
- Full-time students R 6600
- Part-time students R 4600
- Residences (students at all campuses) R 7100
Students accepted in accredited off-campus residences must make payments directly to the service provider (landlord) and not into the university account. (Please see off-campus registration guidelines on the website: http://ocho.mandela.ac.za)
International Students
- International students are required to pay all fees in full before registration. Please request your estimation of fees from the International Student Accounts Office by emailing intfees@mandela.ac.za. International students must complete pre-registration before proceeding with registration.
Follow the below steps to register for NMU for 2025:
- Access the online registration portal via the official website of NMU
- click on the “MyNMMU”
- Log in with your NMU student number and password
- Choose the courses you wish to take for the semester or academic year
- Review and confirm registration
- Pay all outstanding fees, including tuition and any other applicable fees.
- Upload required documents, such as proof of payment or proof of registration.
- submit your registration online. You will receive a notification via SMSM or Email after submitting your registration.
- Pay any relevant fees that may be due
- Take part in the orientation programmes to find out how and where to do things on campus
- Find out when you can register for your course
- Go through the registration process to enrol in your chosen subjects (modules)
- Find out when lectures start
