Stellenbosch University Bursaries

Stellenbosch University Bursaries is a monetary funding to support students with financial needs in the form of payment of tuition fees, accommodation, and others. This enables the students with good performance but faces financial challenges to concentrate on their studies. Successful applicants who are provisionally admitted to one of their 3 program choices may apply online for bursaries and loans.

As a part of Stellenbosch University’s (SU) Finance division, the Center for Undergraduate Bursaries and Loans (CUBL) supports current and prospective undergraduate students who wish to apply for financial aid by awarding and managing bursaries in a sustainable manner. According to Stellenbosch University, every student who has the potential to succeed academically should, to the greatest extent possible, be provided with the necessary changes.

CUBL aims to offer as much assistance as possible to students who are admitted to the University but lack the funding needed to pursue their studies.

A prospective student’s inability to enroll in the university due to financial need shouldn’t be a barrier.

According to Stellenbosch University (SU), every student who has the potential to succeed academically should, to the greatest extent possible, be provided with the necessary opportunities. Thus, the Center of Undergraduate Bursaries and Loans (CUBL) aims to offer as much assistance as possible to students who are admitted to the University but do not have the necessary financial resources to pursue their studies.

SU, however, is limited in the amount of money they may use. This implies that the student cannot rely solely on the university for financial assistance. A student’s eligibility for a bursary is not assured by the fact that they have applied for one. Financial aid applications are accepted from prospective students (those who have gained preliminary admission to a study program and a special 8-digit SU student number) and existing undergraduates.

You must also be a resident of South Africa. Please visit the Postgraduate Office webpage for information on financing for postgraduate students.
