UNISA Qualifications Application 2023-2024
Unisa has an open applications policy, but students should always ensure that the qualifications for which they wish to apply are not oversubscribed for that particular semester or year. Applicants can only apply for qualifications that are open. Please refer to the application tool to view these qualifications. The Unisa application 2023-2024 for Master’s And Doctoral Qualifications is open from 4th January to 30th April 2023 (some exceptions are applied)

Undergraduate Qualifications
- Semester 1 >> Moules are currently closed.
- Semester 2 >> Opens from 20th June to 18th July 2023
Honors Degree And Post Graduates Diploma
It is open till the 31st of March 2023 excluding CAS programs
Master’s And Doctoral Qualifications
It is open from 4th January to 30th April 2023 (some exceptions are applied)
UNISA’s Short Learning Programmes (SLPs)
Applications for 2023 registrations of UNISA’s Short Learning Programmes (SLPs) are open from 13 September 2022 until 28 February 2023. The SLPs focus on “just in time” and “just enough” learning to meet specific learning needs identified by individuals or organizations. SLPs are offered by UNISA’s Centre for Lifelong Learning (UCL). Program content and contact details are contained in each program. All inquiries should be directed to ucl@unisa.ac.za.

UNISA Application Procedure 2023-2024
- Everyone who wants to start a new qualification should apply for admission to the 2023/2024 academic year. Applications must be submitted online for convenience’s sake.
- Offers for semester 2 will be made during June 2023. Offers to be made will be based on the following: whether you meet the academic admission requirements for your qualification of choice, your minimum points score, and the number of places available for the qualification for which you have applied.
- Applicants who plan to enroll for classes at a Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) college under the Unisa-TVET agreement may apply via the relevant TVET college or at Unisa via the online or self-help options.

Upload supporting documents
- Everyone applying for a new qualification must submit the required documents (all first-time applicants and Unisa students starting a new qualification). The due date for uploading the required documents is the closing date for applications. No documents submitted after the closing date for applications will be accepted.
- Unisa does not provide scanners or electronic devices. Please ensure that your documents are scanned and uploaded to an electronic device before starting the application process.
Pay the application fee once you’ve received a student number from Unisa
- R115 for online applications
- R170 for hard copy applications (hard copy applications will only be considered in exceptional cases)
- Use the student number you receive from Unisa AND the application fee reference number (ie STUDENT NUMBER 5370810030)
- Visit www.unisa.ac.za/paymentinfo for banking details and payment information.
This fee is non-refundable even if you decide not to study through Unisa, do not qualify for admission to Unisa, or cannot be offered a space due to limited spaces available.
Unisa does not accept cash at any of its offices. The due date for the application fee is the closing date for the application period. Any application submitted without an application fee paid on time will not be processed. Please ensure that you keep a copy of your proof of payment.
Make sure that your application is complete
If your application for admission to study through Unisa is incomplete, you will have to re-apply during the next application period.
