Central Johannesburg TVET College (CJC) was founded on September 11, 2003, at our Alexandra campus, by the late Minister, Prof. Kadar Asmal, who launched the landscape for the then Further Education and Training (FET) sector. The current Minister, Dr Blade Nzimande, altered the name of FET to Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET). The College is one of South Africa’s 50 public TVET colleges, which are overseen by the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET).
The College offers two nationally recognized programs: National Technical Education (NATED) and National Certificate (Vocational) NC (V). The Council for Quality Assurance in General and Further Education and Training, Umalusi, guarantees that these programs are up to par with national standards. In addition to the aforementioned programs, the College works with the relevant Sector Education and Training Authority to provide some skills training (SETA). The programs have been accredited and quality assured by the relevant SETA Education and Training Quality Assurance (ETQA) branch.

The Central Johannesburg TVET College Online Application 2023/2024 has been opened for all prospective students to apply. Please follow the process provided below:
- For new students, complete the online application process.
- Complete a Placement Screening Assessment prior to registering.
- A valid email address is required. If you don’t already have one, please create one. (During the application process, we will communicate with you by email).
- Upload certified copies of supportive documents such as; A certified copy of your ID, Proof of Residence etc.
