Welcome to the new 2022 “MyClassroom”site, the official CPUT Learner Management System for registered staff and students
The Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) has adopted a Learning Management System (LMS) called CPUT Blackboard also known as Myclassroom which makes it easier for students to attend their online lectures, find lecture notes and submit their assignments.
This e-learning platform can also be used by lecturers at CPUT to upload their courses and course materials as well as to post important communications and events.
Students are able to access all of their academic work on the CPUT Blackboard.
How to log in to CPUT Blackboard
- Go to https://myclassroom.cput.ac.za/
- Enter CPUT Username
- Enter Password
- Then click Login to access the course content
Students and staff can also log in with a third-party account by clicking the Login with a third-party account option. This option allows students to access the CPUT Blackboard by authenticating the student’s Office 365 account (entering the student’s email), which is active in the cloud and can be accessed when the CPUT system is idle or unavailable. Provides additional ways to.
If you are a freshman in CPUT, you will be trained in how to use the CPUT Blackboard.
Students can also expect to take online tests via Blackboard and interact with their peers using forum tools.
CPUT staff and students can also download the CPUT Blackboard mobile app for free. This app is available on both Android and IOS devices.
The lecturers` app is called `Instructor` while the students` app is called `Blackboard`.
When you first log in to the app, type in “Cape Peninsula University of Technology” as your institution. Then enter the same username and password you used for your web login.
Attention All Staff and Students
There’s a possibility that you might experience problems with logging into Blackboard the normal/default way on 15 October 2022. The normal way of logging in makes use of a system called LDAP, which might not be functioning properly from that day onwards.
During this time please make use of the Sign in with a third-party account option.
The Sign in with a third-party account option allows users an alternative/additional way to access Blackboard, by authenticating against their Office 365 account which is active in the cloud and will allow access when CPUT systems are inactive or unavailable. You will also have the option to change your password in the cloud through your Microsoft Office 365 account using their web-based interface, eliminating the need to contact the CTS Service desk to change your password.
Please click here: Office 365 Authentication.pdf for instructions on how to log in with your Office 365 account.
Please click here: Third-party Sign-on Errors.pdf if you experience any problems with signing in with the third-party account.
If you have any assessments due next week, please make sure ahead of time, that you can successfully access Blackboard via the Sign in with a third-party account. This way you can make sure that all will be fine on the day of your assessment.
